First of all, there are 10 times as many medical doctors as chiropractors. Second, the medical profession does not give a lot credit to chiropractors even though medical doctors routinely fail at treating back pain and headaches. Third, the effectiveness of chiropractic was threatening to medical doctors in the old days, so they actively tried to eliminate chiropractors. Luckily, things are changing slowly especially because chiropractic is great at helping patients and very cost effective compared to surgery, medication and physical therapy. Medical doctors are referring chiropractors to reduce opioid prescriptions to patients. Thank goodness!
